Amal Murad
Discover how we redesigned Amal Murad's website so the digital home finally lives up to her work.

Amal Murad is known for turning traditional abayas into statement gowns shaped by colour and modern silhouettes. With her brand identity now refreshed, the next step was a digital home that could finally live up to her work. Buyers, press and stylists discover Amal online before they ever meet her, so the website needed to do as much for the brand as the garments themselves.

The website Amal had been using felt like a basic boutique and lagged behind her work.
Buyers, stylists and press needed a faster way to follow new collections and reach the studio, and the site itself needed to feel as premium as the brand had become.

Every previous version had grown by adding pages on top of
pages until the structure felt patched together, which is the worst kind of inheritance to bring into a relaunch.

We designed the site like a designer showroom where the imagery leads and the navigation stays
minimal, giving the garments room to breathe.
Every page had to load fast on mobile
and read like editorial.

We mapped the journey from a journalist's first click through to a buyer's checkout, and the site is shaped around those routes rather than a generic ecommerce template.

The site is built around the imagery, with navigation simple enough that buyers, stylists and press can reach the latest work in a few clicks. The stack is solid enough that the team can keep updating without friction, and the animations carry the same restraint as the brand language, which means motion is used when it tells the user something rather than to fill silence between sections.

The new website now sits at the level Amal Murad has earned as a leading modest fashion designer.
